Valentine's Story From Elementary School to College

Valentine is currently studying Foundation Engineering at Fourah Bay College of the University of Sierra Leone. His first year has been challenging, rewarding, and filled with new opportunities as he works toward building a career in engineering.

In a recent letter, Valentine shared an update on his university experience. He described studying subjects including Basic Mathematics, Mechanics, Basic Chemistry, Engineering Drawing, Physics, Communication Skills, and Computing. He also shared that his professors have been supportive and that he has made good use of the campus library and study groups to keep up with his coursework.

As he looks toward his next semester, Valentine is excited to continue his studies and build on the foundation he has established during his first year.

Most importantly, Valentine recognizes that this journey would not have been possible without the people who believed in him along the way.

In his letter, he expressed his deep gratitude for the support he has received, sharing that the financial and moral support has allowed him to focus on his education. He promised to continue working hard and make the most of the investment supporters have made in his future.

What a difference ten years of support can make.

From a young student receiving educational assistance to a college student completing his first year of engineering studies, Valentine's journey is a powerful example of the long-term impact of investing in education.

Your generosity doesn't simply help a student attend school for one year. It can provide a foundation for an entire future.

Stories like Valentine's are only possible because you chose to invest in a young person's potential—and continued to believe in what education can make possible.
